Get creative this holiday season and join our Gingerbread House Contest! Whether you're a master creator, builder, baker or just trying your hand at decorating, this contest is all about having fun and showing off your festive creativity.
Here's how to participate:
Build your gingerbread house
You can use homemade gingerbread/graham crackers or opt for a pre-made kit.
Bring your entry to the Tastes and Creations Market between 1PM - 6PM on Saturday, December 27. OR take a picture and enter your creation by Saturday, December 27 at 8:00pm CST. Enter at MinotTastesandCreations.com/events or by direct messaging our Facebook page.

Two winners from each Division
Divisions are judged by a panel
PRIZES:
Children - First place $35, Second Place $15
Youth - First place $35+ free cookies in January, February and March sponsored by Bearpaw's Treats! Second Place $20
Adult - First Place $50 + $10 Market Bucks, Second Place $25 + $5 Market Bucks
Business Division - Marketing Package
People's Choice Prizes - Voted on by online vote or in person voting on display at the Dakota Square Mall.

Winners announced Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 during the Tastes and Creations Market.
People's Choice voting round is Saturday, December 27 through January 2, 2026.
Decorate your creation
Get creative with your design. Use candy, frosting, sprinkles—whatever brings your vision to life!
Pick the right category
Divisions
Children: Ages 11 and younger.
Youth: Ages 12 to 17.
Adult: Ages 18 and up.
Business Entries
Category Types
Homemade: Created from items not in a kit.
Kit: Pre-made kits are allowed, but you can embellish them to make them your own.
Submit your entry in one of two ways:
Bring it to the Minot Tastes and Creations Market on Saturday, December 27. It will be on display in the Mall and be judged by our panel.
Or Online, complete the form on our website and upload your photo. Send your photo as a direct message to our Facebook page.
The deadline for entries is Saturday, December 27 at 8:00pm CST.
If submitting online, take clear, well-lit photos of your completed gingerbread house. Suggest one from each side so the judges have a good view of your creation.
Judging Criteria
Our panel of gingerbread enthusiasts will carefully evaluate each entry based on the following aspects:
Creativity
How unique and imaginative is the design?
Neatness
Are the decorations tidy and purposeful?
Theme
Does the house capture the holiday spirit?
Overall Presentation
How well does everything come together? Does it make us go "Wow"?
Prizes
Winners in each age division (and both Homemade and Kit categories) will receive fabulous prizes, including:
Cash prizes to spread some new year cheer.
Tastes and Creations Market Bucks to keep your sweet tooth happy and pantry stocked long after the holidays are over.

One entry per person, please.
All entries will be displayed on our Facebook page with a First Name and Age Category, and winners will be announced on our Website and Facebook Page.
Winners will be contacted via email and/or phone.
