Native American Flutist Darren Thompson

Join us at the Community Gym for a free public event with award-winning traditional flute player and multimedia journalist Darren Thompson. Thompson will present on The Loss, Recovery, and Revitalization of American Indian Music and perform live. Merchandise available for purchase.

Darren Thompson is an award winning traditional flute player and multimedia journalist from the Lac du Flambeau Ojibwe of Wisconsin. Over the years, Thompson has released four albums, earning Native American Music Award nominations for flute album of the year. His music has been featured with the WI Chamber Orchestra, the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and for professional sports teams such as the Phoenix Suns, where he performed the national anthem on the Native American flute at the Footpring Center in 2023.
