A right bunch of Twin Cities talent takes the Parkway Theater stage to pay tribute to the loveliest lads from Swindon, British pop giants: XTC! This tenth annual performance marks a decade supporting the Pay It Forward Fund.
Featuring vocal performances by Aby Wolf, Adam Levy, Al Church, Amy Meyer, David J. Russ, Faith Boblett, Janey Winterbauer, Jenny Russ, John Eller, Jo Kellen, John Munson, John Robinson, Jourdan Myers, Kai Brewster, Ken Chastain, Matthew Kirkwold, Nathan Nesje, Rick Meyer, and Tom Scott, Backed by the the finest band in the land. Special guest DJ Jake Rudh will kick things off at 6:30!
A portion of the proceeds from the concert will go to the Pay It Forward Fund. They help breast and woman's cancer patients pay basic living expenses while undergoing treatment so they can focus on what's most important - getting healthy. They assist patients at nine local hospitals including North Memorial, Maple Grove, Unity, Mercy, New River, HCMC, Sibley, Glencoe and Ridgeview Medical Centers. Kicking off this special night celebrating the music of XTC is DJ Jake Rudh, both a Minneapolis club and radio DJ hosting "Transmission" the program heard on 89.3 The Current every Thursday night at 10 pm. Jake's worked in music for over 30 years including Capitol Records, NPR and Twin Cities alternative favorites REV 105 and Radio K. Having been voted "best club DJ" in the Twin Cities for ten straight years by the readers of City Pages magazine, he brings the varied mix of the club nights to the airwaves each week with a different theme to his show.
