State Fair-Style Pickling Competition Categories:
- Best Traditional Cucumber
- Best Other Veggie (carrots, beets, etc.)
- Best Spicy Pickle
- Best Other Pickle (fruit, eggs, rhubarb, etc)
Ribbons for each category + Judge’s Choice Best in Show will be displayed for all to see at Picklefest on August 16 at Forgotten Star Brewing. Cash prizes, gift cards, beer and bragging rights will be awarded to winners!
Rules:
- Competitors may drop off their entries at Forgotten Star Brewing starting Monday, August 11 through Friday August 15 to be judged.
- One entry per category per participant. Participants may enter more than one category.
- Entries must be shelf-stable and sealed—refrigerated/fresh pickles will not be accepted.
- Fermented pickles are welcome as long as they’re sealed and shelf-stable.
- Jars will not be returned—please use a jar you’re okay parting with.
- Each entry must be in a sealed jar with an entry tag filled out and attached (entry tags are available at the bar that week). Do not include your name on the jar—just use the provided entry tag for anonymous judging.
- Pickles will be judged by a team of Forgotten Star employees.
