Join us for a historic musical event dedicated to preserving and celebrating Ukraine’s rich classical heritage. Amidst the ongoing conflict, Ukraine’s history and music faces the threat of being lost to war. This is a declaration: its melodies will endure.
The concert will feature the historic premiere of Borys Liatoshynsky’s Symphony No. 3, “Peace Shall Defeat War”—a symphony that originally was deemed "too powerful, too Ukrainian," forcing the composer to dilute it's original voice and spirit.
After recent discoveries of journal entries and sketches from Lyatoshynksy, we have been able to validate long-held theories about its original performance; and using today’s technology, reconstructed a new score to revive it's original, uncensored form to be performed fro the first time - ever.
Alongside this historical debut will be performed Myroslav Skoryk’s Melody in A Minor and his Violin Concerto No. 4, featuring Ukrainian violinist, Daniela Palamariuk.
