Twelfth Night” is a wild gender-bending comedy (essentially the Elizabethan “Mardi Gras”) with men playing women and “a good many more dirty jokes than were usually allowed”. While the Duke sends Viola (disguised as the man, “Cesario”) to woo the Countess Olivia, complications compound when Olivia falls for the messenger!
As usual, Tim Mooney plays all the roles, from the drunken Sir Toby Belch, to the prudish Malvolio, the foppish Andrew Aguecheek, the suspiciously-gay pirate, Antonio, as well as the twins, Sebastian and Viola.
This "Twelfth Night" won "Best in Venue" at the KC Fringe Festival, winning nothing but Five Star Audience reviews at both the KC and Indy Fringe Festivals. Tim Mooney's return to Minneapolis follows his 6-person "Breakneck Midsummer Night's Dream" two years ago, which also won "Best Ensemble" at the KC Fringe!
