Join us for Build It at the Fair!—a special storytime event designed to inspire the next generation of builders, makers, and problem-solvers. Hosted in collaboration with Clark Technologies, All Things Writing, the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce, and the Louisa Forward Foundation, we highlight the power of storytelling and community partnerships in shaping future career pathways.
Featured story: A Crane Named Steve Written by Katherine Mercurio Gotthardt, M.Ed., this heartwarming children’s book—based on a real-life crane that captured a community’s imagination—introduces young readers to the world of construction and the vital role of the skilled trades in our economy.
🎁 Free signed copies of the book and coloring book will be distributed to children while supplies last.
After the reading, be sure to check out the brand-new Sand Pit experience, presented by Clark Technologies! Kids can put their imaginations to work with hands-on fun while learning about the tools and teamwork that bring big ideas to life.
This collaboration reflects the ongoing commitment of the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce and the Louisa Forward Foundation to workforce development—highlighting the importance of career awareness in the skilled trades and the value of strong partnerships between education, business, and community. Through engaging experiences like this, we aim to spark curiosity and plant the seeds for future career exploration.
Bring the kids, meet local partners, and help us build a stronger future—one story at a time.
