Mineola Nature Preserve Meteor Shower Party

The Mineola Nature Preserve will sponsor The Perseid Meteor Shower Viewing on Tuesday, August 12th. The viewing will begin about 9pm and go until after Midnight. It will be in the main parking area.

This is a weather permitting event. If skies are overcast or rain is likely, the event will cancelled. If this is the case, look for “NO STAR GAZING TONIGHT” signs at the Preserve entrance and viewing area. Also check this event, the ASET facebook page, or the ASET website.

NOTE: We have had rain recently and the mosquitoes will be out. If you need mosquitoes repellent, bring your own, but none that is aerosol.

This event is free. Try to arrive about 8:30pm and park on the west side of the parking lot (There are parking signs.) Bring lawn chairs or blankets for the viewing. You want to bring water due to the warm weather.
