Climbing Mount Fuji (3776m asl), Japan's highest and most prominent mountain, can make for lifelong memories. The mountain itself may look more attractive from afar than from close up, but the views on clear days and the experience of climbing through the early morning hours among hundreds of equally minded hikers from across the world are very rewarding.
Early July to mid September is the official climbing season when the trails and mountain facilities are open. During this period the mountain is usually free of snow, the weather is relatively mild, access by public transportation is easy, and the mountain huts are operating
We will take the more popular trail up which is the Yoshida route. One of the great things about the Yoshida route is that if you get your timings wrong and haven't made the summit by daybreak, you will still see the sunrise to the east.
Starting from the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station, 2300m asl (which can be reached by transport from Tokyo) has an excellent view of the Fuji Five Lakes area as well as Fujiyoshida City and Lake Yamanaka. Once on trail there are 20 or so mountain huts where we will spend our night there.
The path from here is not always that solid and can be muddy so watch our footing and concentrate on gaining some height and earning your summit view. As we climb the views get better and better and the trail quality improves too.
Once we reach the summit crater, follow it around to the Mount Fuji Weather station, the highest point of the mountain. Get settled in and prepare for one of the best sunrises you'll ever see!
Once the sun is high in the sky and taken plenty of photos, carry on around the crater to reach the descent route. Descend all the way back down to the 5th Station and take a bus down to civilisation, where sushi, ramen and beer await!

Day 1: Meet at Haneda Airport at 1030pm or at our designated accommodation in Ota City or nearby
Day 2:
- 0800am Proceed to Shibuya Bus Station for our transport to Kawaguchiko
- 1500pm Check in Guesthouse at Kawaguchiko
- 0930pm Climb Briefing and rest
Day 3:
- Own Breakfast and final climb preparation
- 0730am Depart to Mount Fuji Info Centre and transfer to Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station by bus
- Start the climb to Mountain Hut Gansomuro 8th Station (6-7hr hike)
Day 4:
- 0130am Proceed to summit push. Estimated to reach the Mt Fuji peak at 0430am (3hr hike)
- Enjoy sunrise and photo taking
- 7am Descend to Subaru Line (6hr hike).
- Check-in Guesthouse at Kawaguchiko
Day 5:
- Own breakfast and visit Kawaguchiko Lake
- Free & Easy
- Check out Guest House
- Proceed to Tokyo Central. You can extend your holiday at own leisure, join our extension trip or proceed to the airport for your flight back home

Recommended Flights - Arrival and departure:
● Do arrive in Haneda Airport (HND) latest on Day1 2200pm. If you arrive earlier or later, you will have to find your own way to the specific hotel in Ota City area or at Shibuya Bus Station on D2 1000am.
● Do NOT leave Haneda Airport (HND) earlier than Day5 or Day7 (if taking optional extension) 1600pm. In case our arrival to Tokyo City is delayed due to activity and travelling
