The Zero Youth Corrections Initiative is an innovative collaboration between Milwaukee County’s Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS), Children, Youth & Family Services (CYFS), the Milwaukee Turners, and Public Welfare Foundation. Since 2021, we have allocated $1.2 million in funding in a system-community partnership to elevate community solutions and work to reimagine youth justice.
This forum will highlight our Round 2 grantees, Paradigm Shyft and Pathfinders. They will discuss their experiences during the grant period, including their successes and impact, lessons learned, and the next steps for these organizations - and for the Zero Youth Corrections Initiative in Milwaukee.
Paradigm Shyft’s “Mirror – Policy Reflection” is a two-pronged program that works to empower high needs youth through comprehensive and transformative mentorship and advocacy for policy change aimed at the Serious Juvenile Offender Program (SJOP).
Pathfinders’ “Power of Paths – Youth Action Board” focuses on systems change to meet the needs of Milwaukee youth with emphasis on the intersection between youth housing instability and the criminal legal system.
