The Pie Sessions with Honeypie Bakeshop | Berry Pies

Learn the secrets to making your very own delicious pies with Valeri Lucks, Chief Executive Pie Officer of Honeypie Cafe and Bakeshop.

This session is a hands-on lesson in making classic butter pie crust and our favorite berry pie fillings. We will cover the how-to's, what pitfalls to avoid, and the tricks to making a flaky, perfect crust. You will make your own dough, roll out your crust for one (1)- 9" pie. We will then create berry pie fillings while learning the tips to making the fillings just right! We will assemble the pies using a crumb topping, which includes a lesson in creating various crumble tops to bake with. We do bake the pies during class which takes about 40 minutes, giving you time to take a break and visit with friends and other classmates. We have lots of time for questions and answers. In the end, you will have a delicious pie to take home to show off your new pie making skills. This class is great for those of all skill levels!

Held inside our bakeshop kitchen at our sister cafe, Palomino, our hands-on pie classes guide you through a variety of different aspects of pie making. In each of our classes you will bake your own treats to take home. There will be lots of room for questions and answers during each class so come with all of your crust conundrums and filling inquiries. Classes are approximately 2.5-3 hours, are limited to 12 people and requires that you stand most of the time to work at a table in a working professional kitchen. Please let us know if you need any kind of accommodation to attend and we will do our best!

Tickets for class includes all of your ingredients, your finished pie, a recipe with tips and tricks and a drink ticket for one (1) tap beer, well cocktail, glass of wine or NA beverage from our bar.

(Please note, we often have wait lists for our pie classes. Tickets to class are non-refundable if you cancel without more than 72 hours notice. If you need to cancel within 72 hours of class, you are welcome to email us, and we will offer your spot to a person on the waiting list. If it is taken by someone waiting, we will refund your ticket. You are also welcome to give your ticket to a friend and they can attend in your place.)
