Looking to try something new? Join the Fun, Fitness, and Friendship offered by Scottish Country Dance (SCD)! SCD is the social and ballroom dance of Scotland that is danced ALL OVER THE WORLD! It is historical (dates back to the 17th Century), it is contemporary (new dances written daily), it is an ancestor to US dance forms like Contra and Square Dancing, it is international*, and it is evolving!

The Milwaukee Scottish Country Dancers (MkeSCD) group is offering a SOCIAL DANCE CLASS in the gym of the Zao Mke Church: 2319 E Kenwood Blvd, Milwaukee, WI 53211 (across the street from the UWM Union) on Thursday evenings 7-8:30PM. The 2025 winter/spring session begins January 9 [no class 2/13, 2/20, 2/27 (teacher in Scotland!), or 4/17]. We typically dance in multiple groups of 6-8 people to lively fiddle, accordion, pipe, and piano music recorded by world class musicians, but on occasion we even have live music! New Dancers are always welcome! It is an open class!
This class has the advantage of being on the east side of Milwaukee, near the UWM campus, and on a bus line! Parking is available on the street, in the Union parking lot, at the Zelazo Center parking lot, or if there is room in the tiny Zao parking lot. Class costs are solely for the facility rental and will be pay-what-you-can at each class (suggested $5 cash). Please share this flyer with everyone you know who might be interested!

Although the class is for adults, teens ages 14-17 are welcome if accompanied by a parent/guardian. Families indeed enjoy dancing together!
