Friday Night Freak – V for Vendetta

On August 15th WMSE brings you another Friday Night Freak Show featuring V for Vendetta, a 2005 dystopian thriller film directed by James McTeigue from a screenplay by the Wachowskis.

Following world war, London is a police state occupied by a fascist government, and a vigilante known only as V (Hugo Weaving) uses terrorist tactics to fight the oppressors of the world in which he now lives. When V saves a young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) from the secret police, he discovers an ally in his fight against England’s oppressors.

Join us at The Oriental Theatre, the fun starts at 6:30 p.m. with a DJ set by WMSE’s Jason from the Modern Chamber program, followed by the film screening at 7:30 p.m. The Friday Night Freak Show is sponsored by MKE Film and 3 Sheeps Brewing.
