Black Arts MKE invites you to audition for this year’s production of Black Nativity by Langston Hughes. A powerful blend of gospel music, movement, and storytelling rooted in Black cultural tradition.
Audition Components
Monologue: 1 minute max
Song: A maximum of 32 bars of a gospel song, praise and worship, or spiritual (a cappella or MP3 accompaniment)
Dance: A group movement/dance section will follow monologue and song
Audition Schedule
Set I – 3:00 PM to 5:15 PM
3:00 to 4:15 PM: Monologue and Song (5 minutes per auditioner)
4:20 to 5:15 PM: Dance
Set II – 6:30 PM to 8:45 PM
6:30 to 7:45 PM: Monologue and Song (5 minutes per auditioner)
7:50 to 8:45 PM: Dance
