"Home Is Where Your Heart Is" is a joyful and creative master class where children decorate gingerbread cookies shaped like houses and hearts. Inspired by Ukrainian children dreaming of peace and safety, and the warmth of millions of Britons opening their homes and hearts, this workshop invites kids to express kindness and hope through art and sweets.
Marking the 80th anniversary of VE/VJ Day, the workshop highlights the importance of remembering lessons from the past—how peace was won and the hope it brings to new generations. Through stories and fun games, children connect with shared values of home, safety, and love, building bridges between Ukrainian children and their British friends.
In a playful and welcoming atmosphere, kids use vibrant icing to bring their imagination to life, turning each gingerbread piece into a unique masterpiece. The activity sparks creativity while developing fine motor skills and artistic expression.
Decorated gingerbread treats can be enjoyed on the spot, taken home in gift boxes, or given as thoughtful presents to loved ones. This workshop blends culinary delight with heartfelt meaning, offering children a memorable way to celebrate, create, and share their dreams for lasting peace.
