Riders, am hoping we can gather a good size group for the 14th Annual Patriot Day Ride in Darlington MD on Saturday August 30. This is the largest 9/11 ride in MD, DE and PA. Some 500 - 700 riders are expected. It is a 29-mile Police Escorted and Fire supported ride, ending in Parkville MD (north of Bel Air.) Long-range forecast is for a sunny, comfortable day. Cost is $20 for rider; $10 for passenger. Proceeds benefit Living Classroom educational program.
Because of the distance from here to Darlington, we're going to break the trip into smaller pieces:
KSU at Post 28 will be at 7 am sharp. We will ride approx 1 hr 15 min via Rt 1 to Post 14 in Smyrna and have a break before their KSU at 8:30 am sharp. They will lead a 1 hr 15 min ride to Conowingo MD. They will be meeting other riders, including Ray Seigler, and then riding the 6 minutes from there to Darlington VFC.
KSU at Darlingon is at 10:45 am.
The ride back to the Legion from Parkville is approx 2 hr 20 min, either via I-95 & Rt 1 or an alternate of a few MD non-interstate roads to the Bay Bridge. We can stop about halfway for a break.
