A journey in story and song around Cumbria’s Celtic Connections...

Live music and performance storytelling from Jessie McMeekin (story-teller) and Dave Camlin (musician).

An evening of stories and songs exploring the enduring power of place. A magical odyssey uniting Cumbria’s neolithic heritage with the landscapes, Celtic myths and legends of North Wales, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

Imagine that you leave the pub one night and instead of turning right you turn left, and you take the long way home right around the Irish sea before you end up back in Cumbria. The Long Way Home takes the form of a journey which uses song and folk tales to explore Cumbria's long and complex cultural relationsip to England, Wales, Northern Ireland & Scotland. Dave and Jessie create a rich sound world using singing bowls, hang, cello, guitar and bodhran.
