Discover the timeless art of stone carving in the historic and atmospheric surroundings of Muncaster Castle.
Led by West Cumbrian sculptor Tony Crellin, this two-day experience invites you to slow down, switch off, and get hands-on with traditional carving techniques. With over 30 years of experience, Tony brings a deep passion for working with stone—drawing inspiration from nature, heritage, and the Cumbrian landscape.
Lost in Stone launched in 2023 as Tony’s personal mission to share the creative and wellbeing benefits of stone carving, an art form that remains surprisingly rare in Cumbria’s rich creative scene.
The weekend course is kept deliberately small, ensuring plenty of one-to-one tuition and support. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, Tony’s clear, step-by-step guidance means you’ll finish the course with a unique carving to take home—and the satisfaction of having created something lasting with your own hands.
Level: Suitable for Beginners/Intermediate Level.
