The Millersburg Area Art Association is pleased to once again host Lynne Yancha's Watercolor Workshop at the Millersburg Area Senior Center.
Lynne is an acclaimed watercolor artist and an inspirational instructor with over 50 years of art experience. Lynne's goal is not only to share her knowledge of watercolor painting but to encourage you to trust your instincts as you paint.
This workshop will focus on figurative and animal subjects.
She will address power through design; paint application; the importance of light, mystery and mistakes; use of white acrylic to enhance details; techniques to make skin tones; and techniques to combine elements of abstraction and realism in your watercolor paintings.
Lynne will work one-on-one with each student addressing each student’s needs and will present numerous demonstrations based on the students’ requests.

What to expect if you are new to Lynne's workshops:
1. To benefit the most from this workshop, you should have a basic knowledge of watercolor.
2. You are encouraged to bring your own photograph reference (5x7 or larger and clear) or use one of the references available during the session.
3. You will work at your own pace - each student will receive individualized instruction.
4. Don’t worry if your supplies are limited - Lynne will help you get the most out of the materials you have.

Bring any watercolors you have (listed below are Lynne’s favorites)
Liquitex Heavy Duty Titanium White Acrylic
1”, 3/4”, and ½” flat brushes, small round brushes for details (good brushes, not beginner packs)
Good quality paper – Lynne prefers 300 lb. hot press (she will have some available at $22.00/sheet)
Hard #5 pencil, kneaded eraser
Photos – 5 to 10 scenes, pets, grandchildren, etc. Prefers no posed photos, no looking straight at camera, no mouthy laugh, no fuzzy pictures. (Lynne will have photos to borrow.)
Lynne prefers Windsor Newton Artists Brand for majority of colors. It is not necessary to purchase every color, but her favorites are preceded with a *.
