Open Mic Night with Special Guest Jim Seegert

Everyone’s welcome at the library’s monthly Open Mic Night! Performers of all ages and experience levels are invited to share your original work or a favorite cover, or just come to listen and support our local artists! This month, we feature local poet Jim Seegert, reading from his recently published book Fresh Light.

Jim Seegert is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, a graduate of the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Art, and a 40-year resident of NYC. He’s been a long-time reader and featured performer of poetry and spoken word throughout the New York City metropolitan area, principally with the Performance Poets’ Association (Queens/Long Island), and the Phoenix Reading Series in the West Village—among others. Now residing in Dutchess County, Jim has become a regular on the Calling All Poets (CAPs) international zooms as well as an in-person performer at Lit Lit in Beacon.

This event is free and open to the public. We meet outside on the library porch (weather permitting). Light refreshments provided.
