These gentle introductory 2-hour sessions are designed to allow for deeper human (re)connection with the Forest and Nature that surrounds us where we will go. These sessions will be offered once a month and you will receive the most benefit if you choose to attend the whole series, observing and experiencing the way Forest changes throughout the year, but individual sessions will also be beneficial if you elect to come and experience just one or more of them. They are also all weather dependent and will be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
They often involve a gentle walk, mindful stops for reflection, and sharing with the group. The overall experience is designed to be slow, mindful, and relaxing, encouraging participants to connect with Nature through all the 5 (or more) senses.
What To Expect
Guided Walk:
You will be guided on a gentle walk, often on fairly flat terrain and with some mindful wandering off maintained trails.
Mindful Stops:
The session includes pauses for mindful reflection, often at different locations within the forest, to encourage you to fully immerse yourself in the surroundings.
Sensory Engagement:
You will be invited and encouraged to engage your senses and connect with the Forest's sights, sounds, smells, tastes and textures.
Group Sharing:
The sessions will include opportunities for you to share your experiences and reflections with the group.
Tea Ceremony:
We will have a ceremonial tea ritual making the tea out of the forest goodies where possible.
Forest Therapy vs. Forest Bathing
While both involve spending time in nature, forest therapy is a more structured, therapeutic intervention that may address specific health and social issues, while forest bathing is a more general practice focused on mindfulness and connection with Nature.
About Your Guide
I am certified in Sylvotherapy (Forest Therapy) and will be introducing and demonstrating many different techniques for you to engage with the Forest.
I am also a certified Community Drumming Circle Facilitator so some of our sessions will be enhanced with Gentle Therapeutic Drumming and some other gentle sound therapy. Drums will be provided.
As my company's name - Infinite Rhythms - implies, the rhythms (and possibilities) are just that - infinite.
No experience necessary - just bring an open mind and a willingness to explore. Don't miss out on this opportunity to recharge and reset in the great outdoors!
