Join us for a hands-on, knot-by-knot intro to macramé! In this creative workshop, you’ll learn a handful of essential macramé knots and techniques to make your very own plant hanger, perfect for adding a handmade touch to your home decor or gifting to a plant-loving friend.
You’ll have access to a variety of eco-friendly cotton cord colors, wooden hoops, beads, and S-hooks, with materials provided to make two hangers: one during class, and another you can continue in the studio or finish at home.
This class is perfect for beginners or anyone looking to revisit the basics with a fun, supportive group. By the end, you’ll feel confident to keep experimenting with macramé on your own.

Please Note:
This is primarily a standing workshop, as hanging cords work best when suspended from standing racks. If you have any accessibility concerns or would prefer to be seated, please let us know in advance—we’ll do our best to accommodate!
Meet Your Instructor
Aja Smart is a professional weaver and macrame artist behind Strand Texture Eclectic Fiber Arts. Her original wall hangings can be found in homes across the U.S., known for their rich textures, playful color work, and inspirations drawn from art and nature. Having taught numerous workshops in the SF Bay Area, she is excited to bring her expertise to MYSTIC. Aja grew up in Mill Valley, where she now lives with her husband and son.
