Yes, you read that correctly! We are teaming up with MidPointe Library Middletown to put on our very own adult Spelling Bee to be held in the taproom! To compete, you will grab a team of 4, create your name, and come early to register your team! Only 20 teams will be able to compete. Once we are filled, we cannot take any other teams.
Things to Know:
-You must be 18 or older to compete
-We will be selling our craft beer, among other beverages, we have in the taproom during the event
-You must register at least 15 minutes (no more than 30 minutes) before the event WITH a team name
-NO electronic devices will be allowed
-The winning team will receive gift cards to our taproom, along with several other local businesses!
-We will have a house team playing along in the competition(they cannot go into the finals) If you beat our team, your team will get a $5 gift card for simply beating the House Team!
-Judges will make the final decisions and there will be no appeals
-Words will come from National Spelling Bee's Words of Champions (2020)
-Words will be pronounced and defined according to Merriam Webster's unabridged dictionary
-There will be three overall rounds you will go through if you end up in the Finals. If you don't make it past one of the rounds, your team will not be permitted to move further in the competition.
So grab your crew and show off your team's brilliance! We will see you on the 20th! Also, we do encourage people to come and observe the competition as well to help cheer on our teams!
