Bird Mountain String Band is a bluegrass and old-time band rooted in the hills of Vermont. The family trio of Micah, Zenon, and Adam Stevenson, joined by their good friend Sam Merwin on bass, is driven by a shared love for the sound of the tradition.
The venue for this event is a circa 1790 hand hewn timber frame barn. In 2020 the Reuben Waite Barn was moved from its original location in Galway, NY to the shop property of Green Mountain Timber Frames in Middletown Springs. The Green Mountain Timber Frames crew carefully dismantled the structure taking care to label each beam, brace, and board. After restoring and washing the frame, it was erected once again on a stone foundation to live on as a space dedicated to community, the arts, traditional crafting, and the learning of hand tool woodworking.
