Empire Athletics South Shore is at it again!
We are leaving from Springfield fire department. Please no trucks and/or trailers at the fire department due to the size of the parking lot (we don’t want to risk blocking any doors incase of an emergency). We will meet there on our buggys
Parking….
We will have different choices for parking. There is a parking lot just below the fire hall that we are allowed to use (there will be signs). There is also the Hastings Rd right below the fire department. If parking on that road please only park on one side. You can also park at the Cherry field parking lot (located right on the railbed) but it will add 20kms total to your day. There is also the option to park at new Germany legion and that will add 40kms total to your day.
Please no parking on the side of highway 10 because this is a very busy road.
Instead of registering we are going to be selling 50/50 tickets out in front of the fire hall. The 50/50 draw will be taking place before we leave for Roxbury.
Ticket prices are $2 each or 3 for $5.
We will be selling tickets between 8am and 9am. Drawing will be after that time.
Our plan….
We will be having a few stops on our way to Roxbury to ensure the group stays together. Once we get to Roxbury, we are planning to allow 2hrs for people to go at their own pace to enjoy the sights, signs, etc. it is only 6-7 kms and straight. In this 2 hr time, please have your lunch. As well, when you stop to look at stuff, please pull over so others can go by you. We will be waiting at the end of Roxbury for the group. There will be friends at the end of the line so we know who is where.
The total run will be about 100kms.
Our average travel speed will be 35km/h
We are raising money to purchase sign arrows for our Fall 2025 Rally.
The last few years we have done follow the leader fun runs, but with the huge turnout at our Fall 2024 Rally (over 150 buggy’s) we feel a signed rally is the way to go moving forward! (Watch for an update when the time gets closer, our Fall 2025 Rally will be signed with arrows, go at your own pace)
