Free and Open to All
Come spend a relaxed summer afternoon with us at the Folk Art Guild for a lively and thoughtful poetry reading featuring celebrated poets including:
Mary Gilliland – Cornell University
Steve Lewandowski – Rushville
Peter Fortunato – Ithaca College
Albert Abonado – Oswego University
Whether you’re a lifelong poetry lover, a writer yourself, or just curious, we’d love to have you. This free event is part of Lecture on the Lawn, our seasonal series that brings artists, performers, and thinkers to the Guild’s scenic grounds in Middlesex, NY.
The reading will last about an hour, with time afterward to chat informally with the poets. We’ll have folding chairs and benches available, but feel free to bring a blanket or your favorite lawn chair. If it rains, we’ll move inside.
Stick around after the reading to visit East Hill Gallery, filled with handcrafted work from Guild artists, or take a short guided walk through our community and craft studios.
No tickets or RSVP needed.
Thanks to the Rochester Area Community Foundation, Yates County Tourism Advisory Committee, New York State Council on the Arts, and Mid-Atlantic Arts for making this event possible. Donations are always welcome to help us keep programs like this going.
