2:00–3:30 PM: Performance | 3:30–4:00 PM: Q&A with Director Josh Rice
Free and open to all ages
1445 Upper Hill Road, Middlesex NY
Join us at the Rochester Folk Art Guild for a high-energy, all-ages production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, brought to life by Shake on the Lake, New York’s freshest Shakespeare company. With just five actors, this fast-paced 90-minute show features live music, puppetry, physical comedy, and imaginative staging that transforms the classic tale of shipwrecks and sorcery into a wildly fun afternoon for all.
Will the exiled sorcerer Prospero choose revenge—or forgiveness? Come find out as Shake on the Lake turns our lawn into a windswept island of magic and mischief.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair and arrive early for a good spot. Rain or shine — the performance will move indoors if needed. Stick around after the show for a Q&A with director and puppeteer Josh Rice.
This event is part of our free Lecture on the Lawn series and is made possible by the Rochester Area Community Foundation, the Yates County Tourism Advisory Committee, and the New York State Council on the Arts.
