We Met at Secret Movie Night

Film club is in session.

Join We Met in Miami and Miami Moviegoers at the German American Social Club on Sunday, August 10, for a secret movie night.

Here’s how it works:

 🎬Swipe right on your top film choice. It’s like Tinder for movies. When you arrive, you’ll have a chance to like, dislike or even super-like our secret movie options — and we’ll all match with the winner!

🥤Break the ice. Skip the small talk and get to know fellow attendees with fun icebreakers while we tabulate the votes.

🍿Grab your popcorn as we dim the lights and press play on our selected film.

🎞️Let’s get into it. After the credits roll, we’ll break into small groups for guided conversations on the film’s themes, helping you spark deeper connections.

🎉 Stay for the after party. Stick around and keep the conversation going.

We are grassroots community organizations, and we need your support. We are asking all attendees to make a $10 suggested donation. Your contribution helps us keep the party going!

Looking for new friends or a romantic spark? 

At We Met in Miami events, adults 21+ wear wristbands that show others who we are and what we’re looking for (choose one, two or all three):

💚 green for love

💙 blue for friendship

🌈 rainbow for members of the LGBTQIA+ community

💌 if you meet someone special, we’ll help you reconnect after the event

Come early to sip, nibble and mingle! Arrive at 5 p.m. to check in and get your wristbands and name tags, and then head over to the bar for a drink or snack, including empanadas, hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn and candy. Parking is free!

Here’s what to expect:

5 p.m. Doors open. Check in, grab your wristbands and name tags. Get a drink and a snack and start mingling. Cast your vote for which film to watch.

5:30 p.m. Opening. We’ll kick off the connection with a fun icebreaker activity.

6 p.m. Movie begins. Our team will tally up the votes and start the movie.

7:45 p.m. Group photo. Let's capture the moment!

8 p.m. Movie debrief. We’ll sort you into small groups for guided conversations diving deeper into the themes of the film.

8:45 p.m. After party begins. Visit the bar and connect with your new friends.

10 p.m. Event wraps. Did you meet someone interesting? Fill out a Connection Card! If you match, we’ll reconnect you after the event.

About : Miami Moviegoers, grab your popcorn, and let’s go to the movies! This group is designed to connect cinema lovers in the South Florida area and to advocate for the theater experience. If you want to join, it’s simple: all you have to do is buy your ticket ahead of time and show up. And perhaps purchase some concessions when you’re there! Also, we often plan pre or post screening events where we can hang out and talk about everything film.
