About Gabrielle D'Alemberte, Attorney at law
Gabrielle Lyn D’Alemberte has spent the majority of her 30-year career as a trial attorney, lobbyist, mediator, consumer advocate and legal consultant.
D’Alemberte is sixth generation Florida lawyer, with a family history in seeking justice. D’Alemberte’s tendencies towards advocacy were a trait she was born with, having a tough act to follow considering her father, Talbot “Sandy” D’Alemberte, was the President of the American Bar Association as well as President of Florida State University. As the founder of the ABA’s Rule of Law Initiative, and the architect of CEELI (dubbed the Peace Corps for lawyers), he left a legacy of changing the world as the expectation that D’Alemberte should follow.
Fighting for the underdog comes easily to D’Alemberte.
D’Alemberte started her career at the heart of our legal system. D’Alemberte’s first legal position was investigating and preparing habeas corpus appeals for death row inmates in San Quentin through the California Appellate Project (CAP). D’Alemberte continued her work in the Attorney General’s Office (Florida) suing tobacco companies and prosecuting child support matters. Quickly, she became known in the legal field as a skilled litigator and tough negotiator who was recognized by the Governor of Florida for her work in the newly developing field of alternative dispute resolution.
D’Alemberte moved into private practice where she took on cases against Phillip Morris, RJReynolds, Boeing, NASCAR, Bombardier, Carnival Cruises, Hilton, Sandals Resorts, Merck Pharmaceuticals, Publix, Atlantis (Kerzner), Walmart, Jackson Hewitt, Marriott, Hyatt Hotels, Costa Concordia, BP Oil, Halliburton, Transunion, Goodyear, Home Depot, American Airlines and others.
With dozens of jury trials as a first chair, D’Alemberte is recognized as one of Florida’s most celebrated female civil trial and mass tort lawyers.
A member of the Florida Bar, Southern, Northern and Middle Districts of Florida United States District Courts, D’Alemberte received the Florida Supreme Court Pro Bono Award for her work with the Legal Aid Foundation of Tallahassee, and was honored by the Junior League for her contributions as a SPAC advocate on bullying, domestic violence and child protection issues. She was given the opportunity to publish policies such as online gambling and access to courts for several Governors of Florida, and is considered one of Florida’s leading resources on voter suppression and voter protection issues.
D’Alemberte has been listed in Super Lawyers in aviation for 12 consecutive years, received honors from the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce for her pro bono achievements and been recognized by Legal Services of Greater Miami for her commitments to the “Together We Must” Campaign, which serves the South Florida community on consumer protection matters, social justice reform and immigration.
During the 2020 election cycle D’Alemberte had a ‘call to action’ and served at the very top echelon of political positions as the National Operations Director for Democratic Presidential Candidate Tom Steyer. After the primary, D’Alemberte joined the Biden/Jaime Harrison Coordinated Campaigns. Through her position on the legal team of the DNC (Democratic National Committee), she has expanded her practice to elections law and policy maker.
Today, D’Alemberte is Of Counsel to the SIMON TRIAL FIRM servicing clients throughout South Florida. D’Alemberte currently practices in the areas of premises liability, wrongful death, legal malpractice, construction accidents, drowning, burn/fire victims, school violence, liquor/bar liability, catastrophic injury, negligent security, sex abuse, trucking accidents and general negligence matters.
