Join us for a special afternoon with artist RemiJin Camping as she shares her creative process and invites participants to explore alternative photography through a hands-on cyanotype workshop.
From 1:00–2:00 PM , RemiJin will lead an Artist Talk reflecting on the work she selected for The Eye, The Lens, The Story. Her talk will explore the unpredictability of life’s journey and how moments of change, loss, and redirection shape the way we see the world. Using medium format infrared photography, archival printing, and hand-toned watercolor, RemiJin’s practice captures the emotional impact of life’s detours and the unexpected beauty that can emerge from them.
From 2:30–4:00 PM, join RemiJin for an all-ages cyanotype workshop, where participants will learn about this historic photographic process that uses sunlight to create bold blue images. All materials will be provided, and guests are encouraged to bring small personal objects such as leaves, lace, or trinkets to create unique cyanotype prints.
The workshop is open to all experience levels. Come ready to connect, create, and leave with something entirely your own.
REMIJIN CAMPING (b. 1987 Filipina-American)
RemiJin Camping is a Filipina-American photographic artist based in South Florida. She holds two Bachelor degrees, one in Music and one with a concentration in Photography, and a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. In the Fall of 2022, RemiJin became an Assistant Professor of Photography at Barry University, where she teaches analog, alternative processes, and digital photography.
RemiJin’s artwork thoughtfully creates photo-based pieces and projects that explore themes of memory, emotions, and stories narrated with objects, locations, and landscapes. The need to make these works stems from an awareness of the limited existence humans have and wanting to give visual life to these narratives. Sometimes they are her own story, be it a happy or sad experience, and other times they are another person’s story that she has connected with and has been moved to tell.
