Suicidal Monks is a Brazilian rock trio born from samba, soccer, and the deep pulse of pop culture that got their name from Thích Quảng Đức. Rafael Preto (drums), Yuri Novato (guitar/vocals), and Fabio Piroka Sohn (bass) grew up surrounded by Rio’s rhythm but drawn to the raw energy of rock music and cinema.
With Preto’s street-smart charisma, Novato’s sharp intellect and musical depth, and Piroka’s inherited bohemian spark and stage energy, the band blends heart, grit, and groove. Their sound reflects their roots and obsessions — from late-night jams to film-inspired riffs — delivering rock that’s both familiar and fiercely their own. In resume, just 3 guys that likes to play music together.
40 St – Miami Rock Reignited
Born in the heart of Miami, 40 St was formed by three coworkers slinging hot dogs at Arbeter’s—Herbert Virgilio, Hector Sanchez, and Emilio De Armas—who shared a passion for classic rock and raw energy. What began as casual jam sessions turned serious when they linked up at Carlos Alfonso’s rehearsal studio and tore through a powerful rendition of AC/DC’s “Whole Lotta Rosie.” Carlos joined the lineup on the spot, and the band’s sound snapped into place.
With the addition of Pedro Abdala, the group solidified its identity and began crafting original music, including their debut track “Vice City Blues,” a love letter to their hometown’s grit and soul. Soon after came “Gonna Get You” and “Never Gonna Give It Up,” establishing 40 St as a band with both fire and feel.
After a three-year hiatus, the band is back—revived and louder than ever. Don’t miss your chance to catch 40 St live as they return to the stage, channeling the spirit of rock with every riff and roar.
