Explore the power of video projection as a storytelling tool in live performance in this dynamic workshop, part of Miami Light Project’s Technical Fellowship Program for emerging Miami-based technicians.
Led by Claudio Marcotulli, this workshop introduces participants to the world of projection design—covering the fundamentals of projector setup, configuration, and how to craft compelling visual narratives using moving image. Ideal for aspiring technicians and multimedia artists, this session blends technical skill with creative exploration in a hands-on learning environment.
Claudio Marcotulli is a Miami-based artist originally from Caracas, Venezuela. Trained as an aeronautical engineer before earning his B.F.A. from Emerson College and M.F.A. from Miami International University of Art and Design, Claudio works across media, sculpture, and performance. His work investigates the intersections of technology and nature, often referencing memory, flight mechanics, and climate change through a surrealist lens. His projects have been exhibited internationally and supported by institutions including South Florida PBS, The Knight Foundation, and MDC Live Arts. He has held residencies at Live Arts Miami, Mana Contemporary, and Laundromat Art Space.
