Ellie’s SewSweet Small Patchwork Tote – it’s totally charming!
You are going to be amazed at how this tote comes together. Using Ellie’s methods, your seams will meet PERFECTLY every time.
This smaller tote utilizes a charm pack (forty-two 5×5 squares) of coordinated fabrics and an additional fabric for the internal lining and pockets.
We start sewing at 10am and you can stay until you get it finished. Don’t feel rushed, we won’t close until 9pm.
Please be sure your sewing machine is in good working order and don’t forget your power cords, foot pedal, and basic notions (scissors, needles, pins or clips, etc.).
We will provide the grided interfacing that makes assembling the charm squares fast, easy, and perfect every time. The class price does NOT include a copy of Ellie’s pattern. You may purchase Ellie’s pattern directly from her during class.
Supply List:
One charm pack (typically forty-two 5″x5″ squares of coordinating fabrics)
Two pieces of lining fabric that are each 19″x23″
Two pieces of lining fabric for inside pockets that are each 12″x14″
Two pieces of lining fabric for handles that are 4″xWOF (width of fabric)
Two pieces of fusible fleece for handles that are 4″xWOF
Two pieces of fusible fleece for inside pockets that are each 12″x7″
Two pieces of fusible foam that are each 19″x23″
Two pieces of lightweight interfacing for lining fabric that are each 19″x23″
Coordinating thread and bobbins
OPTIONAL – hardware for bag feet (4 pieces)
Pre-work BEFORE CLASS:
Please cut all your fabric pieces using the measurements above.
Open your charm pack and layout the squares in a 5×4 grid to see how you like the arrangement. Take a picture so that you reproduce this layout in class. DO NOT SEW YOUR SQUARES TOGETHER!
