Join us for our Kids Made Market!
All the kids will be able to set up their own table to sell handcrafts and goodies. It will be a great opportunity to purchase gifts for the holidays! This is a Wild+Free community event. So please invite any homeschool friends that may want to participate and consider inviting family and friends to shop!
Some things to think about for your setup:
- a tablecloth or table decoration
- pricing sheet (prices for handcrafts do NOT need to be pocket change- encourage your kids to price things fairly)
- plenty of goods to sell: this is likely to be a high trafficked event so being prepared with enough items to sell is a good thing. it is also okay if they sell out and venture off to go play. ;)
- at the end of the event, the kids can barter with anything they have left over
- change: please bring plenty of change
Sometimes choosing a handcraft is tricky. Here are some ideas that we have seen in the past:
- jewelry
- picture frames
- Christmas ornaments
- crocheted dishcloths
- deer jerky
- fire starters
- paintings
- homemade coloring books
- soaps
- wool felting
- dollhouse accessories
- baked goods (including diy cupcake kits!)
- pinch pots and clay figures
- key chains
and I'm sure there is a lot more I'm missing! I wanted to get this event set up early so the kids had a long time to plan and create. It is also a good time to try and learn a new skill or try a new handcraft. Kids can choose multiple items to sell if they wish.
*Note on location: As of right now it is TBD. Because this event is public, I will not announce the location within the group. You must reach out to me for a location (we will also chat about it at regular meetups). This is a way of keeping our group safe.
