Pack Picnic & Bottle Rocket Launch

Bring your bottle rockets** and come hungry for our last Pack Meeting before summer. We will have a quick advancement ceremony, a picnic dinner for our scout families, and then fun with bottle rockets! The Pack will provide hot dogs and brats, we are hoping families can bring a dish to pass. Please RSVP and sign up.

**Each scout and/or siblings should bring their own 2 liter soda bottle for the Bottle Rocket launch. Decorated rockets are encouraged! Root beer bottles seem to work the best.
Here is some information on what is safe for rocket decorations:
The plastic bottles commonly used for soft drinks or water are generally used to construct the body of the rocket. Flying components—such as fins, a nose cone, or decorations—need to be lightweight and non-metallic (such as Styrofoam, tape, etc.). If they fall off in the air, you don’t want heavy metal pieces coming down near anyone. Make sure to keep the lids in tack. We fill the bottles with water. The secret to making a high-flying rocket is finding the right balance of materials, weight and design. Rockets with a perfect balance can soar more than 100 feet in the air.
