Here's what the committee has discussed:
There will be 2 Sunday rehearsals for all who can attend on September 7th & October 12th from 2 pm - 5 pm. These will be held either in the choir room or band room at Northview High School depending on the number of alumni who will be there. They will be livestreamed to our YouTube channel so those who can't make it in person can listen, learn, and sing at home at the same time. The recordings of the livestreams will be available for rewatching on our YouTube channel as well.
Friday, November 7th we will have an informal get-together for all who can attend. Everyone will be responsible for their own costs at the time. Location and time TBD.
Saturday, November 8th morning through afternoon will be our rehearsal period with the full alumni group and the current high school choir.
Saturday evening we will have a semi-formal dinner with a program. There will be a prepaid cost for this. The registration form lists the different cost ranges for you to select from. It also has an option to select it you'll bring a +1. It is important for us to know how many will come to the dinner and the cost ranges between $20 - $50 they are able to pay for us to determine where it will be held and what menu options will be available.
There will be a $35 registration fee for each choir singer to participate in the concert. This covers the cost of music, learning media, and a performance venue. Any surplus will be donated to the current Northview High School Choral Department.
The form also asks if you would like to donate to a fund that would help any alumni who want to participate, but may be unable to pay the fee. We want every alumni member to have the chance to participate regardless of their financial status. If you are able to donate, please consider it.
Another form question asks about which nights travelers will need to book for their hotel stays and how many rooms they need. This will help us arrange blocks of rooms and research available discounts with local hotels to offer you the best rates in the area.
We still need more folks to help in the subcomittees handling hotel research, social gathering, performance venue research, and outreach. Most of these are pending until we tally the number of alumni who register.
The outreach subcommittee is working on finding as many alumni as possible to make sure those who don't use Facebook or check often still have the opportunity to register. Some of us were at Northview today researching yearbook pages from last year going back to 1970. We're compiling a master list of alumni from this info. We will post it ASAP. If you see folks you know that you believe would want to participate, and know how to reach them, please do so and also let us know how to as well! Same goes for anyone you haven't seen reacting or commenting on these posts so far! Thanks everyone!
