Understanding the philosophical underpinnings of yoga, including the Yamas and Niyamas, will provide a solid framework for your journey ahead.
🧬 Anatomy and Physiology: Delve into the intricate workings of the human body as we examine the role of the vagus nerve, parasympathetic nervous system, and enteric nervous system in stress regulation. Gain insight into the physiological responses to stress and learn how restorative yoga can effectively activate the body's innate relaxation response, promoting healing and restoration.
🧘🏽♀️ Restorative Poses and Sequencing: Discover a variety of restorative yoga poses tailored to induce deep relaxation and release tension held within the body. Learn how to sequence these poses intelligently to create a cohesive and nurturing practice for your students. We'll explore the therapeutic benefits of each pose, including stress reduction, improved flexibility, and enhanced mental well-being.
💫 Mindfulness and Meditation: Cultivate a mindful presence both on and off the mat through guided meditation practices and mindfulness techniques. Explore the power of breath awareness, body scanning, and loving-kindness meditation as tools for stress reduction and emotional regulation. Learn how mindfulness can be weaved into a restorative class
🧠 Fascia and the Mind-Body Connection: Uncover the role of fascia in maintaining structural integrity and facilitating mind-body communication. Learn how restorative yoga can help release tension stored within the fascial network, promoting greater ease of movement and emotional release.
🌸 Therapeutic Applications of Restorative Yoga: Discover how restorative yoga can be used as a therapeutic modality to address specific health concerns, such as chronic pain, insomnia, and anxiety disorders.
