Quintet Classics

Join us at the new Schoenecker Center at the University of St. Thomas for four of our favorite classic quintet pieces. Ferenc Farkas' Serenade is full of charming dance music from Hungarian folk traditions. the Wind Quintet by Paul Taffanel is known for its French elegance and virtuosity. Darius Milhaud's La Cheminée du roi René was adapted from a 1939 film score and evokes the 15th Century court of King René in Provence, Mihaud's birthplace and beautifully brings Renaissance activites like juggling, jousting and hunting to life. Kliene Kammermusik showcases Paul Hindemith's humor and wit through eccentric melodies. The very lively finale is so exciting.
