⭐️ GETTING STARTED WITH GENERATIVE AI ... FOR FREE!

In this workshop, attendees will learn how to getting started with generative AI. However, they will see how to do this without having to download, install or pay for any tools or services. Everything in this workshop runs in a web browser and is free. The only cost of admission is a Google or GitHub account.

Agenda:

1) GitHub Codespaces: Microsoft Visual Studio Code in the browser. We will go over the free tier of GitHub Codespaces and configure a Codespace for the rest of the workshop with extensions and settings for optimum use of the free resources.

2) Ollama: A free LLM host and server. We will see how to install and configure Ollama. And we will see how to download and serve models. We will also build applications using both the REST API and the ollama Python package.

3) GitHub Models: A free tier of cloud hosted LLMs. Includes both open source and OpenAI models. We will use the API to write applications.

4) AI Toolkit for Visual Studio Code: Present a user friendly interface on top on Ollama and GitHub Models.

5) Groq (time and interest permitting): An alternative to GitHub Models for hosted LLMs. All open source LLMs including vision and speech models.
