Dear Friends from the greater Melbourne Telugu Community,
I hope this message finds you well.
As the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Australia Telugu Cultural and Community Centre (ATCCC) — a proud initiative of TAAI — I am reaching out with both pride and a sense of urgency.
We are on a mission to preserve and promote Telugu literature, film, music, and fine arts, and to establish a dedicated community centre for the Telugu community in Greater Melbourne. This centre is not just a building — it’s a vital hub for our identity, culture, and continuity in a new land.
Over the past few years, more than 100 donors have contributed $5,000 or more to support this vision. Recently, we’ve seen growing momentum from young families and recent migrants, many of whom are now making one off and recurring monthly contributions of $100, $200, or $500. This groundswell of support has helped us raise $650,000 to date, and with the ongoing backing of TAAI, we have visibility to $800,000.
Now, we have a powerful opportunity to reach $1 million by the end of the 2025 financial year — and we need your support to get there.
Join us on June 15th to celebrate and build together!
We are hosting a special fundraising evening on June 15, 2025, at Glen Eira Town Hall, Caulfield, starting at 4:00 p.m.
This event is a celebration of our collective achievements and an invitation to new donors to join this important journey. It’s also a timely opportunity — thanks to our Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, every dollar you contribute is tax-deductible, making your gift go even further.
Whether you’ve already contributed, are thinking about joining our donor community, or simply want to learn more — you are warmly welcome. Come and be part of a vibrant evening that brings our community together in support of a cause that matters deeply to all Telugu-speaking Australians.

Let’s act now — not tomorrow — to ensure that our rich culture and heritage thrive for generations to come. When we are away from our motherland, this cause is as urgent and worthy as any other. It deserves the attention and foresight of every Telugu person who believes in empowering our minority community to flourish.
With warm regards,
Dr. Subhash Challa
