RETROSPECT: My Virtual Pet - Group Art Exhibition

Artist collective PANCAKE is proud to present RETROSPECT: My Virtual Pet, an upcoming group art exhibition being held at Microluxe in Fitzroy on May 24–25.

RETROSPECT: My Virtual Pet invites audiences to rediscover their emotional connections to beloved digital companions like Tamagotchi and Neopets, reimagined through the original characters of 20 local and international artists. 

The show is the first instalment of a three-part art series touring Melbourne throughout 2025, RETROSPECT, which explores nostalgia for traditional techniques alongside a growing fascination with the digital, with each part reflecting on the impact of technology and the resilience of creativity, either through subject matter or artistic process.

RETROSPECT: My Virtual Pet will feature the spectacular works of artists: abby memedokies, beanynne, Bertie.ink, Comfy Jasper, eunybo, Guugorou, Hannakin, jo0ia, Kurobite, madebyabra, Makita Namina, meru, plasticpeco, ruki, sighsra, tabetaaii, uglymallrat, Wawe, Studio witcat, and y2kyle.

Alongside the exhibition, a limited selection of exclusive merchandise from participating artists will be available for purchase. All sales will operate on a first-come first-served basis.

Ticket holders can also claim a free keyring by participating in our egg hunt! Simply collect stickers from three out of eight participating locations: Gacha Gacha (Southern Cross Station), Hareruya Pantry (CBD or Carlton), Melridai, Minotaur, Mr Ramen San (Mid City Centre or Bourke Street), and Taiyo Sun.
