Rally to Reinstate Sadie - Young HSR Sacked for Undertaking VTHC Stress Survey

Sadie is passionate about health and safety and was elected HSR for her store at Aldi Keilor Downs late last year.

Sadie took her role seriously. She is passionate about ending unsafe practices like bag checking offenders and workplace stress.

She downloaded union stress surveys and took them to her employer in early April. They took photos and she told them she would do the survey of workers in the following weeks. She then surveyed workers in her store in May.

When she published the damning results in late May, they demanded she remove the report. Then they sacked her. It was an outrageous attack on a young woman who knew first hand how unsafe practices in supermarkets have devastating effects on workers.

RAFFWU is taking legal action and Sadie’s co-workers are organising in RAFFWU - demanding Aldi reinstate Sadie. Now we take to the streets. Join us as we #StandUpFightBack and #FightBackInRAFFWU

We gather at the Zelda D'Aprano Statute outside Victorian Trades Hall Council at the corner of Lygon and Victoria Streets in Melbourne at 5pm on Friday 11 July 2025. We will then march to Aldi Swanston Street.
