Join us for a tall glass of red and escape the cold with a showcase of Melbourne poets reading their most recent works. Hosted by Tim Loveday.

Ali Whitelock is a Scottish poet living in an old church in country NSW with her French, low-carb, chain-smoking husband. She’s published three collections of poetry & a memoir about growing up in Scotland in the ‘strange & brutal kingdom we call home’. She loves red wine, but lately has gravitated towards white.

Jennifer Compton lives in Melbourne and is a poet and playwright who also writes prose. Recently she has taken - with a vengeance - to reviewing books of poetry for Cordite and Compulsive Reader and Rochford Street Review etc. Recent Work Press in Canberra published her book, 'the moment, taken' in 2021 and her next book, 'Still' is forthcoming soonish. Maybe.

Lucy Van writes poetry and criticism. Her poetry collection, The Open (Cordite 2021), was listed for the Stella prize and Mary Gilmore award, and highly commended by the Anne Elder award. With Anne Maxwell, her new book is Australian Women’s Historical Photography: Other Times, Other Views (Anthem 2024). She is an Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne, where she teaches literary studies.
