Overview
Around the world, construction organisations are turning to Lean thinking to tackle a problem the industry has wrestled with for decades: stagnant productivity in the face of rising complexity. This Community of Practice session explores how Lean Construction is shifting the dial globally and what that means for Australia. Drawing on international research, including findings from the Dodge Analytics and Lean Construction Institute (LCI), the session will examine where measurable productivity gains are being achieved and why some approaches succeed while others stall.
Why This Matters
As major programs and mega-projects continue to stretch traditional delivery models, productivity is no longer a nice-to-have. It is a strategic necessity. This session sets a clear, evidence-based foundation for the Future Infrastructure Summit, grounding the conversation in data, lived experience, and practical lessons.
