Good Heavens Rooftop Bar
level 2/79 Bourke St, Melbourne VIC 3000, Melbourne, Australia
Melbourne’s largest rooftop Good Heavens is undergoing a bold winter makeover reimagined as an immersive cold-season escape in the heart of the city. From today Heavens Above is transformed to be a winter oasis full of colour and texture with creative cocktails indulgent comfort food and plenty of fun in the clouds.
At the centre of it all? A new age Kurling rink - a fast-paced team-friendly spin on traditional curling that promises nightly thrills. Whether you're chasing glory or giggles over drinks the rink is open to all who dare to slide.
While the signature Palm Springs spirit remains it’s reimagined for winter with rich warming tones and bold design flourishes. Elevating the transformation a striking draped fabric ceiling installation by Melbourne textile artist Oscar Lake curated by local artist Georgia Harvey brings a sense of playful surrealism to the open-air space and warm cocooning atmosphere.
As for the drinks menu ex-Black Pearl bartender Matt Linklater has curated an exclusive cocktail list that blends winter warmth with creative flair. Expect icy highlights like the Frosé Tips ($18 $13 on Saturdays) featuring Whispering Angel rosé strawberry and coconut the Black Diamond Fizz ($24) blending Ardbeg Wee Beastie Dubonnet rouge blackberry and soda or the Bluebird Sour ($25) with Glenmorangie peach lemon and sherbet. For cocktails with character try the Pickled Margarita ($24) with Volcan tequila Fancy Hank’s pickle juice agave lime and tajin or the Apple Crumble ($24) a comforting mix of Hennessy cloudy apple golden syrup and cinnamon sugar. And for peak indulgence the S’mores Espresso Martini ($25) brings Belvedere Kahlua salted caramel and toasted marshmallow together in one irresistibly cosy cocktail whilst the Mulled Cider ($15) with Mountain Goat cider Hennessy spices honey and sage is the epitome of winter in a glass.
The food offering is just as elevated. Created by Good Heavens head chef Jarrod Di Blasi the menu delivers decadent winter indulgence with a playful twist - devilled eggs topped with sturgeon Oscietra caviar ($6.50) wood-grilled oysters brushed with smoked brisket fat and cayenne-watermelon hot sauce ($19 for three) and Chappy’s dill pickle kettle chips paired with silky prosciutto di Parma ($19). For cosy comfort tuck into mac & cheese toasties with smoked garlic and porcini mushroom ($13) then finish with soft chocolate mousse cold-pressed yuzu oil and fleur de sel ($12) - a dessert made for the mountains.
Plus to warm up the winter and light up the longest night of the year on Saturday 21st June Good Heaven’s will be throwing the ultimate Winter Solstice Party with a sensory celebration from sundown till late. Expect all the above plus a luxe oyster bar and live DJ sets curated by Animals Dancing. It’s a winter oasis-fantasy—no snow gear required.
