Saving Lemurs: The Role of Zoos in their Conservation at Shepreth Wildlife Park

Join us for a fascinating day dedicated to lemur conservation, featuring research and real-world insights from Oxford Brookes University. Discover the unique world of lemurs, the threats they face in the wild and how zoos like Shepreth play a vital role in their protection.

Professor Giuseppe Donati and Dr Michaela Balestri will share stories and findings from their fieldwork in Madagascar. Their talk, accompanied by a slideshow presentation, will take place in the Discovery Centre at 1:45pm and will also be streamed live on our Facebook page. At 2:30pm, continue the conversation with a more relaxed discussion at the black-and-white ruffed lemur habitat.

Don’t forget to stop by the Lemur Base Camp charity stall, where you can pick up lemur-themed merchandise with all proceeds supporting conservation efforts in south-eastern Madagascar.
