When The Water Floods

Curious about what floods do for prairie ecosystems? Join us for the Interpretive Program's upcoming public program: When The Water Floods! Floodplains form by a process of silt and sand collecting from floodwaters over time creating nutrient rich soil that supports prairie forests.

As we walk the shoreline trails we will be sharing information about the unique features of floodplains and how flooding over the years has shaped the ecosystems at Police Point Park. We will meet at the Nature Centre in Police Point Park at 11:00 am for an hour long walk. This program is free and no registration is required drop-ins are welcome!
