On July30th, we will be visiting the Piper Farms to pick blueberries. This event is offered through the Medical Lake Park and Rec Program, and we will gather there in the morning, leaving at 9 a.m., first stop will be at Billie's Diner for a "berry" delicious breakfast and then going up and pick berries at Piper Farms. There is room for 12 people to join us on the bus. We will be learning about how Billie's works with local farms to provide ingredients for their menu throughout the whole year, and all about blueberries up at the farm.
Last summer, my mother and I went up, and she's in her 80s and uses a walker. This farm is accessible for walkers, and it was easy for her to get around and pick. It's a wonderful experience, and like many things, it's more fun shared with others. So grab a friend, mother, brother, or even your neighbor, and come join us for breakfast and berries on July 30th.
