About the event

What Matters Most for Reentry: Lessons from Transformational Pr*son Project
New report launch: discover the impact of a restorative, community-led approach to reentry from incarceration.

About this Event

Across the U.S., more than 1.9 million people are currently incarcerated—and the vast majority will return to their communities. In addition to meeting people’s immediate material and practical needs, like access to housing, employment, medical and mental health support, what helps someone rebuild a life after Pr*son—and who is best positioned to help?

Join us for the launch of What Matters for Reentry: Lessons from the Transformational Pr*son Project (TPP), a new report based on a collaboration between the WPF and TPP, and shaped by the insights of 30 people who engaged with TPP as part of their reentry journeys. TPP is a Massachusetts-based organization led by formerly incarcerated people and grounded in restorative justice, an approach that focuses on healing, accountability, and community-building as the foundation for reentry.

This event will share key findings from the study and feature people interviewed for the report. Together, we’ll explore what works, what’s missing, and the contributions of community-led, restorative reentry in Massachusetts.

This report was made possible in part by a grant from the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life. The statements made and views expressed are solely the responsibility of the authors.

Food and refreshments will be served.

Speakers include:

  • B. Arneson, Program Director, World Peace Foundation
  • Dr. Bridget Conley, Research Director, World Peace Foundation
  • Noble Williams, Senior Director of Programs, Transformational Pr*son Project
  • Angie Jefferson, Interviewee and Subject Matter Expert
  • Jody Boykins, Interviewee and Subject Matter Expert
