Spring league has concluded and to further celebrate our love of ultimate, we'd like to invite the greater community out for a hat tournament! The intention of this tournament is to provide an easy-going, inclusive event without the commitment of the weekly league schedule.
No entry fee (so no field food or amenities) but feel free to bring shade, drinks, and snacks to share! Winner receives bragging rights and likely several high fives. If this is a successful event, we can step it up for next season/year!
Basic Details:
Fichtner Mainwaring Park - check in with me (Sarina) upon arrival to get sorted on to a team
1PM - 3PM (show up at 12:30 for set up/warm up)
Bring a black shirt, white shirt, and plenty of water
Team Formation:
As you arrive, place your name in one of four "hats"...
Grandmaster men (40+ years old)
Male cutter (<40 years old)
Male handler (<40 years old)
Ladies (we can add another lady category if we have >8 FMP)
Game Format (adapted from Portland Ultimate Masters Tournament):
Round robin - 3 games; 30 minutes each
Each game starts with a pull
After that pull, every point will start with a check (you will be going the same direction the whole time - we can reconsider if it's windy)
When you score a point, place the disc down where you scored it
The new offense will bring the disc into play with a check at the front center of the endzone
Anyone (offense and defense) can sub within 10 seconds of a score
Stall count is the normal 10 seconds
2 timeouts and unlimited water breaks per game each team (it's hot)
